VUL Celebrates Black History Month

Lynchburg, VA - Virginia University of Lynchburg is celebrating Black History Month by hosting several events this month. They presented their drum circle workshop Tuesday.

About a dozen performers took part in the workshop along with master percussionist Malcolm Dendtler.

Nearly 30 people came out to the free event.

The title of VUL's series is, "Remembering Our History through Drama."

"It's so important. This is something we can pass on our generation because they have no idea of the things that our forefathers did. This is an opportunity to express that and show them what took place during that time and it is a wonderful occasion," said Debbie Hughes with VUL.
