Blacksburg - It's Tech/UVa weekend this Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies and Cavaliers kick it off at 3:30.
Tech has beaten Virginia the last 9 years, 13 of the last 14. Two things have to happen for the Hokies to win the Coastal Division. Duke must lose at North Carolina, the Heels have won five straight, and Tech has to beat UVa. The Duke/Carolina game kicks at noon, so the Hokies will likely know before they take the field whether a win over the Cavs will give them the title and berth in the ACC Championship Game.Logan Thomas, HOKIES R-SENIOR QB (LAST UVA GAME), said "It really doesn't change our mindset on anything. We should have never been in this position in the first place but, you know, we still have to take care of UVa because if we don't beat UVa it really doesn't matter."
Tariq Edwards, HOKIES R-SENIOR LINEBACKER (LAST UVA GAME), said "My Dad went here and, of course you know, he taught me early (that) if you lose every game - as long as you beat UVa you're good."
Frank Beamer, 17-9 RECORD VS. UVA, said "Exciting week for the state of Virginia. I think it's something everyone in the state looks forward to so it's about having a great week of preparation."
