After two tough games against BYU and Oregon, UVa hosts VMI, an FCS opponent, Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The game is not on television but online at ESPN3.com.
MONDAY NEWS CONFERENCE COMMENTS FROM HEAD COACH MIKE LONDON
-He said the running backs are now 100% healthy
-He wanted his team to find an identity following the loss to Oregon. London has brought up the adjectives - smart, tough, and aggressive.
-Part of that offensive identity will be changing in the coming weeks. After QB David Watford ran for just 18 yards in two games, London said Watford will run the ball more and become a more vital part of the offense.
-He said the bye week worked out being early given the fact the team has four new coaches.
-Saturday's game will be Military Appreciation Day. London's father was a 30-year veteran of the Air Force. London had nothing but praise for those that put themselves in harm's way. We'll hear more on that later this week.
MONDAY NEWS CONFERENCE COMMENTS FROM PLAYERS
-Tight end Zachary Swanson said the bye week practices were tough, "like camp practices."
-Defensive tackle Brent Urban has gotten a lot of attention from NFL scouts over the past two seasons. Urban, a native of Ontario, was actually drafted in the Canadian Football League draft this past season. He obviously chose to return to UVa. We'll have more on his story in the coming days.
