Lexington - VMI outscored Campbell by 25 points in the second half, shooting better than 62 percent from the field in the process, en route to a 76-57 win in Big South action Wednesday night at VMI. With the victory, the Keydets win their fifth straight game and move into sole possession of first in the Big South's North Division, thanks to their first 4-0 conference start since the 2008-09 season.
VMI trailed by six at the half, but took the lead for good just over seven minutes into the second half. The Keydets' fifth-straight win is their longest streak since 2010-11. D.J. Covington led VMI with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Rodney Glasgow added 16 points and six assists. Stan Okoye finished with 17 points and five rebounds for the Keydets. Okoye's five rebounds moved him into a tie with former Liberty Flame Jesse Sanders for 10th on the Big South's all-time rebound list with 815.
The Keydets return to action Saturday at Coastal Carolina in Conway, South Carolina. Game time is set for 11 a.m., and the contest will be televised on ESPNU.
