VMI Quarterback Al Cobb Honored by Southern Conference

Lexington - VMI redshirt freshman quarterback Al Cobb was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Week for his performance Saturday at Bucknell. In his first college game, Cobb completed 27 of 40 passes for 308 yards and four touchdowns while running for another. All of his touchdown passes went to four different receivers and covered 20, 38, 8 and 20 yards. His touchdown on the ground was a 1-yard run.The first VMI redshirt freshman quarterback to start a season opener since 2003, Cobb tied the VMI school mark accounting for five touchdowns. He's the first VMI quarterback to throw four TD passes in a game since Eric Kordenbrock against Glenville State in September of 2013.
