VMI Defeats IPFW 106-95 in Tourney

Lexington - Senior D.J. Covington poured in 41 points, topping his career-high of 37 from Tuesday night, to power VMI to a 106-95 win over Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne in second-round action of the Tournament Saturday in Lexington.

Freshman QJ Peterson scored 25 points, including six 3's, Rodney Glasgow scored 13 and added 12 assists, Tim Marshall chipped in 12 points as the Keydets placed four in double figures.

Luis Jacobo led IPFW with 30 points.

This was the first Div. 1 postseason tournament game ever played in Lexington. The Keydets improve to 21-12 on the season and advance to round three of the tournament.
