Danville, VA - We've all been enjoying some great weather lately, but state officials want you to be ready in case strong storms hit. Hurricane season starts June 1st, and local agencies want all Virginians to prepare for bad weather. Sunday marked the beginning of Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. Dozens of items that you need during a storm are tax free until May 31. That includes items like batteries, flashlights and two-way radios. Home Depot says if you really want to be storm ready, get the items that stores usually run out of first. "Number one probably is water, bottled water, people buy it at several cases at a time. If not a palette. We also have generators that go immediately," said Assistant Store Manager Kimberly Saunders. For more information, click here.
