Virginia Tech Will Work With FAA in Drone Research

Blacksburg, VA- Virginia Tech has signed an agreement to work in a collaboration supporting the FAA's research and testing of unmanned aircraft systems, or more widely known as "drones".

Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey and the top research universities in those states will work with the FAA to integrate the aircraft into the national airspace system.

Last year, congress passed legislation last year calling for the establishment of six unmanned aircraft research and testing sites.
