VDOT Sets Up Traffic Plan for People Leaving Lockn' Festival

The crowd begins to fill as the final day of music kicks of Sunday.

Nelson Co., VA - The fourth and final day of the Lockn' Music Festival in Nelson County is underway Sunday with another full day of music.

The event will wrap up at about 11 p.m., and VDOT is already warning drivers along U.S. 29 to expect very heavy traffic in the area through noon Monday as the estimated crowd of 25,000 leaves the area.

Many people are expected to start leaving as early as Sunday afternoon, with the volume of traffic only increasing later into the evening.

VDOT says that traffic leaving Oak Ridge will enter US 29 North.

Motorists wanting to go southbound on 29 will make a U-turn at a designated crossover approximately 1 mile north of Oak Ridge Road. Thru traffic northbound will merge into the right travel lane.

Police will be assisting in moving the traffic along, but VDOT urges drivers to use caution and watch for stopped or slow moving vehicles in the area.
