UVa Defeats LC 9-5 in Men's Lacrosse Scrimmage

Lynchburg - Another big crowd of more than 21-hundred came out to Lynchburg College Thursday night to see the Hornets scrimmage 2011 national champion UVa. The Cavaliers got all they could handle from L.C., the Hornets actually led UVa 5-4 early in the fourth quarter before the Cavaliers finished with a flurry. Ryan Tucker had three scores for Virginia, while Joe Jay Goldsmith added a goal and an assist.

Virginia scored the final five goals of the game to win 9-5. Big comeback by the Cavaliers, but the Hornets put up a strong showing. They should take plenty of positives and increased confidence from their effort against one of the country's top Division One programs.
