UVa Baseball Splits with Wake Forest

Winston-Salem - After blowing a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth in game one and losing in the 10th 6-5, top-ranked Virginia rallied to win game two 7-2 and earn a split of their Friday doubleheader against Wake Forest in Winston-Salem.Virginia was on its way to victory in the opener until the Deacons rallied for three runs in the ninth to tie the game, then win in the 10th on Conor Kinery's walk-off rbi single.The Cavaliers answered in game two, exploding for 17 hits, their most hits in an ACC game this season, en route to the 7-2 win. Robbie Coman went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI in the second game, while Mike Papi hit a tie-breaking two-run homer in the sixth inning to jump-start the Cavaliers' offense.Artie Lewicki pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits and two walks in his first ACC start since May 19, 2012 at Maryland.Virginia improves to 43-and-10 on the season and will play the rubber game of the series with the Deacons and regular season finale Saturday at 2 p.m.
