Danville, VA - URW Community Credit Union celebrated a ribbon cutting Wednesday for their new state of the art facility in Danville.
URW, started by a group from the United Rubber Workers in 1970, is one of the largest not-for-profit financial institutions in Virginia.
The event featured dozens of special guests. Both local and state officials, including Bill Stanley and Robert Hurt, spoke on the importance of URW to the Southside economy.
Members were given tours of the facility, which features a community room and cafe.
The Chairman says they look forward to continuing their commitment to the community.
"URW means something to the community because as I said before, URW's name is on everything in Danville. Whatever there is that we can help out in, URW's name is there," said URF Chairman Archie Glass.
They plan to open another location in Tightsqueeze next month.
