UPDATE: VA Man Dies After Route 460 Accident on Campbell/Bedford Co. Line

Campbell Co., VA - Virginia State Police have released new details about an accident that killed a Barboursville, Virginia man Friday night on Route 460 on the border of Bedford and Campbell Counties.
Virginia State Police Spokesperson Corinne Geller says the accident happened when state police and local law enforcement were conducting a DUI checkpoint on Route 460 at the Campbell County line at around 9:30 p.m.
THey say the driver of a 1997 Honda CRV traveling west rear-ended a Ford F-150 pickup truck that had slowed down for the checkpoint.
The driver of the Honda, Emerson L. Evans, 25, died at the scene.
The driver of the F-150, Michael R. Heflin Jr., 44, of Huddleston, and his wife were transported by ambulance to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Trooper E.D. Ferrell is still investigating the incident.
Campbell Co., VA - State Police are investigating a fatal accident on US 460 near the Campbell/Bedford County line.
Troopers say around 9 p.m. Friday during a holiday sobriety check point on 460, a driver was coming up on to the check point.
Officers say the driver swerved hitting a guard rail, then the driver rear ended a pick up truck. The driver of the pick up was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital. Investigators say the driver who rear ended the pick-up died at the scene. His name isn't being released at this time.
East and westbound traffic was closed for several hours. As of 12:30 a.m. Saturday, the west left lane and right lane of 460 are closed.
A detour has been established on US 460 West moving traffic onto Route 623, then onto Route 811, then back onto US-460 West.
