Appomattox, VA - The Appomattox Division State Police phone lines and back in service and now operational and working again after an outage Tuesday, according to spokesperson Corinne N. Geller.
Appomattox, VA - The Virginia State Police Appomattox Division is experiencing a telephone outage due to damage to the fiber-optic phone cable servicing the division headquarters. Repairs are underway, but will take at least another eight to 10 hours to complete.
The outage affects the 1-800 phone line and #77 calls to this, and only, this particular division's Emergency Dispatch Communications Center and headquarters offices.
Those living or traveling through the Appomattox Division and in need of emergency service are advised to call 911 to reach the nearest local law enforcement agency. That agency will communicate via cell phone to alert state police of calls for service.
