Roanoke Co., VA - Officials say they fired gas rounds into the house at around 11:15 p.m. The armed man inside did not vacate the premises though.
Officers are still negotiating with the man to peacefully give himself up.
Roanoke Co., VA - Roanoke County police are working to solve a very tense situation off Plantation Road where negotiators are working to get an armed man to give himself up peacefully.
Investigators have determined that the armed man is alone in that house after the call began as a potential abduction.
That call came in just before one this afternoon which started as a call about a man brandishing a firearm.
That brought police, including the SWAT team, to the 200 block of Orlando where they have been positioned ever since.
When I was at the scene you could see several officers taking positions around a small brick home in the middle of the block as the waiting game stretches into the evening.
Currently there is little information about the suspect or what he is armed with.
Regardless police have the block sealed off until the situation can be resolved.
If you are in that area,or have to go into that area, just know police are asking you to stay clear of sections, near the scene, of Verndale, Palm Valley, Orlando Avenue and Brookside Park.
