Lynchburg, VA - With the frigid temperatures and even a few light snow showers Thursday, many area roads remain slick in spots.
The main roads are clear for the most part but VDOT still says secondary roads are where you need to be extra cautious.
Many areas have thawed in the sunlight and then refrozen with the cold temperatures.
VDOT spokeswoman Paula Jones says there are still crews out working trying to keep roads safe.
"Secondary roads we do have some spot icing being reported and in the cases we have that we're going back and putting abrasive on those which will give us better traction for motorists," said Jones.
Jones says they expect the road conditions to be completely back to normal within a few days.
