Update: No Injuries in Fire Truck Accident, Route 501 Still Closed

      Update 5 p.m.:

      Buena Vista, VA - It was a rough start to the weekend for firefighters in Buena Vista. A fire truck was responding to a call and ended up needing to call for help.

      The truck was on Route 501 near Glasgow when it flipped over on its side partially in a ditch. It happened around 3 p.m.

      Two firefighters were on board. They were taken to the hospital, but officials say they didn't have any serious injuries.

      Officials say it looks like the truck is a total loss, which means hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.

      No word right now on what led to the crash.


      Update 4 p.m.:

      Rockbridge Co., VA - Rockbridge County Emergency Management Coordinator Robert Foresman says no firefighters were injured in the accident on Route 501 Friday morning.

      Route 501 is closed north of Glasgow.

      Officials say there were two firefighters onboard the truck. They were on the way to a call when the crash happened.

      Right now, police are not sure what happened.
