UPDATE: Man Charged With Reckless Driving After I-581 Crash
UPDATE: 12:05 p.m.
Roanoke, VA - Interstate 581 in Roanoke is back open after a traffic accident Tuesday morning.
The crash happened during the morning commute in the southbound lanes near mile marker one.
State police say Garret Maxey, 20, lost control of his car as he was entering I-581 from Orange Avenue.
Maxey's car struck a pickup, knocking it onto its roof, state police say, and also struck a vehicle in the middle lane of I-581.
A trooper says Maxey admitted to "power boosting"; using the gas and brakes at the same time, before he lost control.
Maxey is now charged with reckless driving and for having defective equipment: bald tires.
Traffic was backed up several miles, but there were no injuries.

According to V-DOT, the accident is now closing one lane at Mile Marker 1. At one point, three lanes were blocked.
Witnesses tell us the accident involves an extended cab truck and another vehicle. The truck has reportedly overturned.
