Update: Jamey Singleton's Family Releases Statement on Condition

WSET would like to thank our viewers for the thoughts and concerns expressed for Jamey Singleton.

Jamey's family reports to us that while his condition remains serious, he is alert and communicating.

They are also grateful for the caring prayers expressed by those who count Jamey as a friend.

Update: 1:25 p.m.:

Route 122 reopened to all traffic shortly before noon Tuesday. We are working to get updates on Jamey's condition and will bring them as soon as we can.


Bedford County, VA - State Police said all lanes of Route 122 in Bedford County are closed right now after a car accident Tuesday morning involved ABC 13 employee Jamey Singleton.

State Police report Singleton was driving northbound on 122, crossed the center line and hit a delivery truck head on around 9:50 a.m. at Moneta Road and Stony Fork Road.

Singleton was cut out of the vehicle and airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the truck, 56 year old Leo George Jr. of Moneta and his passenger, 33 year old Joshua Ross were taken to Roanoke Memorial by ambulance.

Charges are pending.
