Update: Franklin Co Police Capture Man After Escaping Jail

UPDATE 1:51 p.m.

Rocky Mount, VA - Franklin County Deputies and Rocky Mount Police have captured Steven Ray Dillon, II after a traffic stop around 12:41 p.m. Saturday.

Police made the traffic stop at the intersection of Old Franklin Turnpike and Bennett Lane.

Dillon was taken into custody without incident, and is being charged with Felony Escape Custody. He is being held in jail without bail.


Rocky Mount, VA - The Franklin County Sheriff's Department is looking for run-away suspect that escaped on foot from the county's courthouse and jail area Friday Evening.

Police say Steven Ray Dillon, II, 26, was taken into custody around 3:51 p.m. Friday for outstanding breaking and entering and grand larceny warrants. While processing the charges, however, Dillon fled around 5:06 p.m. on foot and police need your help in finding him.

Dillon is a white male, 5' 6" in height and weighs around 140 pounds, according to a news release by the sheriff's department. He has sandy blonde hair. He was last need wearing a blue short sleeve shirt and tan cargo pants.

Police say Dillon's listed residence is 170 Chris Drive, Lot 14, in Rocky Mount.
