Update: Former Halifax Co. Sheriff Sentenced to 10 Months in Jail
Update 12:05 p.m.:
Halifax Co., VA - Former Halifax County Sheriff Stanley Noblin has learned his punishment for embezzling Sheriff's Office funds.
Noblin was sentenced to 10 months in Halifax County Jail. He will also be under supervised probation for 24 months and 5 years under unsupervised probation.
He will have to pay back the sheriff's office $1,000 a month if he gets work release.
Halifax Co., VA - Former Halifax County Sheriff Stanley Noblin is in court Thursday, learning his punishment for embezzling Sheriff's Office funds.
In July, as part of a plea agreement, Noblin pleaded guilty to five out of seven counts of embezzlement.
Noblin admits to using more than $100,000 of sheriff's office funds for personal use during his time as Sheriff.
His sentencing started at 10 a.m. in Halifax County court. We have a crew in the courtroom and will have more information as soon as we get it.
