Bedford, VA - The fire truck that flipped while responding to a call in Bedford Saturday is valued at $540,000, according to fire chief Brad Creasy.
Creasy said Monday morning that insurance adjusters have yet to look at the engine to determine the estimated cost of repairing the fire truck, or if the truck is a total loss.
The 2007 Seagrave Marauder II is the Bedford Fire Department's newest engine.
In the meantime, an older spare engine has been placed in service to cover calls.
Firefighters from Moneta and Big Island staffed the Bedford station until 8 p.m. Saturday to allow Bedford firefighters to deal with the accident.
The four firefighters involved in the accident are all recovering at home, and have not returned to duty.
Bedford Police expect to finish the accident report today.
