UPDATE: Fire in Bedford County will Burn for Several Days
UPDATE - 10:45 p.m.Bedford County, VA - An update about that sawmill fire in Bedford County Wednesday night. A fire started earlier Wednesday night at Central Virginia Pallet and Stake on Centerville Road. The owner estimates that the damage is about 75-thousand dollars. The do not have insurance. Thankfully nobody was in the business at the time and there were injuries reported. Four different fire departments were called to the scene. They say they wereable to stop the fire from spreading. Fire Chief Brad Creasy, with the town of Bedford, says "We arrived out here today to find heavy fire showing from one of the buildings. It was almost on the ground when we arrived. Our units immediately began protecting exposures. We had three different buildings that were threatened. And they immediately started protecting those structures from fire damage and were able to save them." Chief Brad Creasy expects the fire to burn for several days. The Department of Forestry bulldozer was able to put in two fire lines around the flames to keep it contained.---------------------------------------------------Bedford Co., VA - A large fire continues to burn at Central Virginia Pallet and Stake on Centerville Road. Centerville Road is closed to traffic. Fire departments from Bedford, Moneta, and Forest remain at the scene.
