UPDATE: Eight Rescued from James River in Rockbridge Co.

Rockbridge Co., VA - A total eight people and one dog were rescued by Swift Water Teams Monday from the James River, according to Emergency Services Coordinator Robert Foresman.. While crews were in the process of rescuing six people, another family of two and their dog had a canoe capsize and had to be rescued as well. Foresman says the six people were tubing in the river and the water was too high, knocking them out of their tubes. They were able to get to the bank at the other side of the river. CSX employees from a passing train spotted them and called police. Within two hours all six were rescued. Two of the six people rescued had non-life threatening injuries. One person was taken to the hospital. --------------Rockbridge Co., VA - There is a swift water rescue underway right now in Rockbridge County.Emergency Services Coordinator Robert Foresman says six people need to be rescued. Two of those people are hurt. The water is high right now and boats have been sent to help get these people. We have a crew on the way there and we will bring you the latest as we get it.
