Update: Driver Injured in Amherst Co. Tractor Trailer Accident
Update: 6:42 a.m.
Amherst Co., VA - Public Safety Director Gary Roakes says drivers should expect delays on the Route 29 bypass over the next couple of hours as crews work to clear a wrecked tractor trailer from the median.
All lanes reopened about 6:30 a.m. but Roakes says that will change over the course of the morning.
Drivers should look for a detour.
Update: 6:14 a.m.
Amherst Co., VA - All lanes of Route 29 in Amherst County have reopened following Friday morning's tractor trailer accident.
Police tell ABC-13 the driver of the tractor trailer was injured after the big rig overturned in the median. Officials say the driver was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
While the southbound lanes were closed earlier this morning, all of Route 29 has reopened and traffic is moving smoothly.
