Update: Chesterfield Boy Dies After He Was Shot at Fourth of July Celebration

      Chesterfield, VA - Chesterfield County police say a 7-year-old boy has died after being shot in the head by someone who apparently fired a gun into the air at a Fourth of July celebration.


      Chesterfield Co., VA - A 7-year-old boy is in serious condition after Chesterfield County police say he was accidentally shot in the head at a Fourth of July celebration.

      It happened near the Swift Creek Reservoir Thursday night where people were gathering for a fireworks display.

      Police say someone fired a gun into the air and the boy was hit.

      They do not believe the shooting was intentional.

      The 7-year-old was taken to VCU Medical Center.
