Update: 16-Year-Old Killed in Pittsylvania Co. Accident

Update Thursday:

Pittsylvania Co., VA - Officials say the teen the 16-year-old killed in a car accident Wednesday was a junior at Tunstall High School.

Parker Jay Armstrong, better known as "PJ" was a member of the FFA at the school.

Armstrong was also a junior firefighter with the Mt. Hermon Volunteer Fire Department and attended St. Mark's Pentecostal Holiness Church.

His funeral is Saturday at 2 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services.


Update 3 p.m.:

Pittsylvania Co., VA - Officials say a teen died in a Wednesday morning accident off Route 41 in Pittsylvania County.

Virginia State Police officials say Parker Jay Michael Armstrong, 16, of Danville, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling southbound on Ridgecrest Road when he lost control and ran off the road. The car flipped over and hit a tree. Parker was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passenger, a 15-year-old male, was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. They were both wearing safety belts.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Police are still investigating the accident.


Pittsylvania Co, VA - State officials are investigating an accident that happened Wednesday morning on Route 41.

The accident happened on Ridgecrest Road in the Mount Hermon area.
