United Way Leaders Say Food Drive Was Successful

Lynchburg, VA - Your donations to the United Way are really making a difference.

Wednesday, the organization held a press conference in Lynchburg about their latest food drive.

The United Way of Central Virginia has gotten about 12,000 pounds of food from a month-long drive.

Thursday they were able to share that food with nine local organizations, including the Salvation Army and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.

If you want to help, you are always welcome to donate.

"It's still not too late because we know that the needs are going to be considerably more during the holidays. So our doors are open for anyone who wants to bring food in," said Marie Martin, executive director.
