Two Indicted on Gun Charges in Rocky Mount
Rocky Mount, VA - A Rocky Mount police officer and another man have been indicted in connection with the illegal purchase of firearms.
The US Attorney's Office says a grand jury indicted James Slate, 25, and David Haskins, 57. Slate is the Rocky Mount Police officer.
He faces 18 counts of making false statements to a license firearms dealer in relation to the purchase of a firearm.
Slate and Haskins are also charged with one count of conspiracy to make straw purchases of firearms.
Both men have been released on bond.
