Two Big Bowl Games by Scott Wilson

For many, the week between Christmas and New Year's means a lot of time off to spend with family and friends. For us at WSET, this week means a lot of time preparing for two big bowl games. For the first time in four years, both Virginia Tech and UVA have made bowl games. And they aren't the Go Daddy.Com Bowl. They are pretty prestigious games. Virginia plays Auburn in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl on Saturday night. Virginia Tech plays Michigan in the Sugar Bowl on Tuesday night.

Of course there are some challenges involved with covering two games pretty far away from each other in a short period of time. Our Justin Feldkamp and Jonathan Merryman will be road warriors for the next week, traveling from Lynchburg to Atlanta to New Orleans and back. Besides being live in the newscasts, we've also been hard at work putting together two specials to get you ready for the games. It's amazing how much sound you get from one press conference that never sees the light of day. Now you will get to hear a lot more from the players and coaches than you normally get on a 6 pm newscast.

So for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, our special airs Thursday, December 30 at 7:30 p.m. The Sugar Bowl special airs Monday, January 2 at 7:30 p.m. I know fans of the two teams are excited about these two games, and so are we. So tune in!
