VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Beach Fire Department says Navy divers are working to recover the body of a truck driver whose tractor-trailer drove off the side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel and into about 26 feet of water. Battalion Chief Amy Valdez says the truck was heading northbound between Virginia Beach and the Eastern Shore of Virginia on Thursday morning when it struck a light pole and went into the water. Valdez says the driver was heavily entangled in the truck's wreckage underneath the water. The wreckage has drifted into the Chesapeake Bay side of the bridge-tunnel. She says four Navy divers are working on the recovery efforts, as well as the Coast Guard. Valdez says police are investigating the cause of the accident. Copyright 2014 The Associated Press.
