Tony Ware Pleads No Contest to 12 Charges of Embezzlement and Money Laundering
Bedford, VA - A former Bedford County Supervisor has pleaded no contest to a number of charges including embezzlement and money laundering.
In exchange for Earl "Tony" Ware's plea, several charges were dropped.
Entering a no contest plea means he knew the Commonwealth's Attorney has enough evidence to convict him and he didn't want to fight it.
Ware's charges stem from his connection to the Big Island Fire Department and the estate of a woman named Hattie Routon.
At one point, Ware was the treasurer for the department.
Ware is set to be sentenced on April 8th.
