Three People Charged in Car Thefts in Roanoke Area

Roanoke, VA - Detectives in Roanoke County and Roanoke City say there have been a number of car thefts in the area.

They say there were at least 40 in Roanoke County.

Through an investigation they found three people involved in a string of Roanoke City cases and close to all the cases in the County.

Detectives say 39-year-old Michael Furrow, 30-year-old Richard Chambers, and 26-year-old Samantha Simmons have all been charged with two counts of felony grand larceny and two counts of misdemeanor tampering with an automobile.

Roanoke Police say Furrow is in the Roanoke City Jail.

Chambers and Simmons bonded out.

Additional charges are expected.

The investigation is ongoing.
