Amherst, VA - The 5th annual Summer Solstice Wine Festival wrapped up Sunday at Lazy Days Winery in Amherst.
The two day event featured eight wineries and dozens of vendors.
There was music and dancing throughout the day.
Organizers say more than 2500 people attended the festival Saturday and another several thousand came out Sunday.
Many people who attended Sunday's event say it's become an annual party to kick off the summer.
"It's a very family friendly event, a lot of different things to do, face painting, my husband is going to get his face painted in a few minutes and we have been tasting some great Virginia Wine," Sheila Peters said.
Organizers say they are thankful that folks in Central Virginia are so supportive of local wineries.
