The Buzz: Week of April 23

Check out the coolest toys a grown up could want at the Big Boys Toys Car Show this Saturday, April 28. Come out to the Riverfront Festival Park in downtown Lynchburg from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. You'll see cars, trucks, boats, SUVs and motorcycles. The bands Drangonfly and Bush Hawgs will perform and the crew from Moonshiners will also be there. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

Also in Lynchburg if you're up for it- the Riverfront Challenge is on Saturday. The event is for runners, walkers and cyclists. Participants can choose between two challenge options: "Rugged" or "Relaxed." Runners can choose between either a 7.5 mile or a 3 mile run. Walkers choose either a 3m or 1 mile walk, and Cyclists will ride 12 to 18 miles. Participants have 90 minutes to complete their challenge and qualify for a special raffle drawing to be held at the Ice Cream Social sponsored by Turkey Hill from 10:30a.m. to noon. That starts at 9 a.m. and registration is $20.

Come out to help support cancer patients at the second annual Truckers United Against Cancer Parade. It's this Saturday in Nelson County and is hosted by the Giving Hope Foundation. Sponsored trucks will drive through Nelson County. You can still get a truck in the parade in memory of someone who's struggled with cancer. The opening ceremony is at Nelson County High School at 10:45 a.m. Get more information on their Facebook page.{}
