Storms Possible Tuesday, Flash Flood Watch Continues for the NRV

Lynchburg, VA - A cold front will move through the area Tuesday with showers and thunderstorms into the afternoon.

Tuesday started rainy for many locations. With all of the humidity in place, and the approach of the cold front, additional showers and storms are possible later in the day.

Any storms that develop could contain heavy downpours, which may cause flash flooding in spots. Also a few storms could become severe, with damaging winds.

A Flash Flood Watch continues today for the New River Valley and Southwest Virginia, for the possibility of heavy downpours which may lead to isolated flash flooding.

Overnight look for clearing skies with drier and cooler breezes.

Very nice weather is on the way for Wednesday and Thursday behind the front.
