Roanoke, VA - Grocers always take notice when there's bad weather.
People come in like clockwork when the forecast doesn't look so good.
That means keeping essentials like bread, milk and eggs in stock with plenty of inventory to spare.
Early Monday, no one seemed to be stocking up at the Piggly Wiggly in Roanoke, which gave grocers time to get everything set.
"Well... you know that day is going to be busy. Everybody likes to come in and buy the milk and the eggs. The essentials. So you know you are going to have a pretty good day ahead of you," Owner
Chad Burdettte said.
Burdette says the extra business is welcomed, but says it all evens out.
Business will slow later in the week because everyone already has the groceries they need.
