Campbell Co., VA - State Troopers really put some new police cruisers to the test during Wednesday's winter weather.
Ford discontinued the Crown Victoria, what Troopers had been using, and replaced it with a new Taurus Interceptor.
The Taurus comes in an all-wheel drive version. That means no chains on police cars and a quicker, safer response in winter weather.
Trooper Jared Staton responded to eight accidents in his new car Wednesday.
"You have to stay around 35 miles per hour with the chains, so you have to have the chains for the side roads, but the main roads are very slow with the chains on. But with this car we shouldn't have this issue," he said.
Several local law enforcement agencies are also replacing older cruisers with the new, all-wheel drive cars.
