Charlottesville, VA- The state says former UVA lacrosse player George Huguely's murder conviction should stand.
Huguely was sentenced to 23 years in prison for killing Yeardley Love in 2010. His attorneys filed an appeal following his conviction, saying he was denied a fair trial.
Huguely's lawyers say when one of the attorneys got sick, the judge rushed the case to jurors.
The state, however, says the judge was correct to move forward with the trial after the attorney assured the court he could continue.
