Spring Cleaning Starts in the Hill City with 'March on Litter'

Lynchburg, VA-Spring cleaning is underway in Lynchburg. Saturday morning about 50 volunteers hit the Hill City streets to pick up trash. It was part of the 15th annual March on Litter.

The event is the nation's largest annual community improvement program. Organizers we spoke with say each year there seems to be a little less trash to pick up-- that makes their job a lot easier.

"People are caring a lot more about the city. They're caring more about the litter and trash on the streets and it seems they like to invest on keeping it clean," said Beverly Herndon, with Lynchburg Public Works.

March on Litter is co-sponsored by the Lynchburg Public Works Department and Keep Lynchburg Beautiful.
