SoVa Wine Trail Holds Annual Wine Festival

Chatham, VA-- Between 1,400 and 1,500 people visited the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex in Chatham on Saturday for the SOVA Wine Festival.

The Southern Virginia Wine Trail, which is made up of a group of wineries across the Southside, held the third annual event. Twelve wineries, from five different counties, were showing off their best and award-winning wines. Some of the wineries involved include the Homeplace Vineyard, Tomahawk Mill Winery and Brooks Mill Winery. The director of the SoVa Wine Trail said events like this are meant to make people aware of the wide variety of wines available in their area.{}"The February festival for us is a big one because its a slower time of the year for the wineries so its a nice little jump to boost for advertising for the rest of the year,"said Cameron Anctil, Director of SoVa Wine Trail. The SoVa Wine Trail was established in 2009 to help bring more agri-tourism to the area.
