South Boston, VA-- The Southern Virginia Higher Education Center in South Boston just got some grant money to help improve health care in the area.
The US Department of Health and Human Services awarded them $85,000.
The grant will help the center serve as a coordinator of networking efforts between local healthcare organizations. The goal is to find ways to extend healthcare outreach programs, that will improve the quality of life for Southside citizens.
Healthcare organizations involved in this effort include Danville Regional Medical Center, Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and the Halifax Regional Healthcare System.
