Southbound 220 Traffic Moving Again After Stone Wall Gives Way at South Peak in Roanoke Co.

Roanoke Co., VA - Southbound traffic on 220 is now moving again, after a large chunk of a stone wall gave way at the South Peak Condos near 419, closing all southbound 200 traffic for over an hour late Saturday afternoon.


Roanoke Co., VA - Both southbound lanes of 220 just past the 419 / Tanglewood Exit are closed due to an incident, VDOT reports.

ABC 13 Viewers report that the stone wall near the top of the South Peak development is giving way.

The right southbound shoulder is also closed.

Traffic is being detoured off at the exit to VA 419.

The on ramp from VA 419 South onto US-220 South is closed.

The on ramp from VA-419 North to US-220 South is also closed.

VDOT traffic cameras available to ABC 13 show police blocking the area.
