      Roanoke, VA - An initiative to push solar power that has been successful in Charlottesville, Richmond and Blacksburg is now being tried in was announced Monday.The three month initiative is designed to make solar energy, not only affordable, but accessible.Interested homeowners now have access to all of the resources you would need.The information includes everything from deciding whether solar would work for you to vetted professionals that install the technology at a discount. "We're providing some great resources so people can learn what it takes to get solar on the home, how much it costs, what incentives are available and how to finance it," said Mason Cavell from Community Housing Partners.City leaders say Solarize Roanoke is another component in the city's efforts to reduce energy use and greenhouse emissions.
