Lynchburg, VA - One of ABC 13's Heroes from the Heart of Virginia is home for the holidays.
Sergeant Kareem Francis was wounded in Afghanistan, paralyzed from the waist down after being shot twice in combat.
Francis has been recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Maryland where they say he has a 60% chance of walking again.
"Steve Bozeman, he's a good guy. He's real active with all the veterans and they got me up here to meet all the veterans before me which is awesome," Francis said.
Sergeant Francis returns to Walter Reed Army on January 3 to continue rehab.
