Danville, VA - Not everyone had their Thanksgiving feast in their homes Thursday. Many people decided Thursday not to go through the trouble of cooking for Thanksgiving, so they went out to eat.
Several restaurants in Danville all stayed open today to take advantage of the business.
Mary's Diner has been in business since 1951 and have served a Thanksgiving meal every year since.
The diner had a packed house Thursday.
The restaurant owner says Thanksgiving Day is always a busy day for them.
"I'm very thankful for it for one , and to know that they back time after time, that's very satisfying and pleasing to know that they're happy and want to come back," said Vice President Jimmy Farlow.
Not only did customers come in to eat at the diner, the owner says several families ordered their food for carry-out.
