Setback for Prosecution in the Carey Padgett Case in Roanoke County

Roanoke Co., VA -{}There has been a{}setback for Roanoke County prosecutors in the case of a man charged with capital murder.

Carey Padgett is charged in the beating death of 18-year-old Cara Marie Holley{}two years ago.

Padgett was arrested in July 2010 after police say he told them he smoked marijuana with Holley, then beat her with a tire iron, and buried her body in Franklin County.

Wednesday,{}the judge said prosecutors waited too long to disclose their intention to call several experts to testify. Reports say that decision could block as many as three experts from taking the stand.

Padgett's jury trial is set to start next week.
