Pittsylvania County, VA - We were first on the scene to a car accident Monday night that sent one woman to the hospital. Emergency crews got a call just before 10:00 p.m. to an accident in Pittsylvania County.
Officials say a tractor trailer was making a left from Wilkerson Road on to Kentuck Road when it hit a car driving down Kintuck Road.
State Police say fog could have been a factor. There was only a driver in each vehicle. The woman in the car was transported to the hospital with a possible ankle fracture.
Officials say there weren't any life threatening injuries -- but this accident could have been a lot worse.
"If it's foggy and wet, you had several factors tonight, you had fog you had wet highway poor visibility, all the way around. Just slow down on these wet nights and drive with extreme caution," said Cpt. Dale Stone, Ringgold Fire And Rescue.
State Police say the driver of the tractor trailer will be charged.
