Section of Pierce Street in Lynchburg a Historic Landmark
Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg can now claim one more historic landmark: a section of Pierce Street has earned its way to a place on the registry of state landmarks. The Pierce Street District was once home to a group of African American writers and poets, at a time known as "The Harlem Renaissance." The Anne Spencer House is one of several properties in the Pierce Street Historic District which runs between the 1300 hundred and 1400 blocks.
