Scrabble for a Good Cause

Lynchburg, VA - Forget Words With Friends and get your Scrabble team together to play for the Lynchburg Literacy Council.

According to the council's website, 13% of adults read below the basic level.

That means 6,000 people in the Hill City can't read well enough to perform every day tasks.

The Lynchburg Literacy Council is working to change that with several programs to teach people how to read -- including English as a second language.

They have a big fundraiser coming up that you still have time to sign up for.

The Scrabble Tournament is March 12, 2013 at Lynchburg College-Hall Campus Center Ballroom from 5:30-9:00 p.m. They are looking for teams right now.
